How to Install a 6 Person Inflatable Hot Tub: A Step-by-Step Guide

There is truly nothing better than enjoying a hot tub to relax after a long day — and having a 6 person inflatable hot tub means you don't have to spend thousands on a permanent spa. These portable hot tubs are designed to give you the same relaxing benefits while offering an easier setup, move, and storage opportunity than traditional hot tubs. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step installation process of a 6 person inflatable hot tub, using the CO-Z 4–6 person inflatable hot tub as our installation example.

What You’ll Need Before Installation

Before you begin installation, make sure you have everything in place for an easy setup:

  • Included accessories: filter, filter cover, spa cover, air hose, wrench, and other components
  • Flat, stable surface: Choose a solid, level surface such as concrete, decking, or a reinforced patio. Avoid uneven or soft ground to prevent damage and ensure stability.
  • Nearby power outlet: Use a dedicated outdoor outlet. Avoid using extension cords if possible to reduce electrical hazards.
  • Water source: Ensure easy access to a hose connection for filling the tub
  • Adequate drainage and ventilation: Prevent water accumulation and mold growth.
  • Safety preparation: Clear the area of any sharp objects, debris, uneven ground, or anything that could puncture the inflatable tub.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Install a 6 Person Inflatable Hot Tub

Step 1

Remove all packing materials, being careful to keep children from playing with them. Store the original packaging through your warranty period in case of any return. Check all components and accessories for any damage during transport. If any damage is discovered, notify customer service and do not continue with installation until the spa is completely repaired.

Step 2

Spread the spa out, making sure it is right side up. It is highly recommended to set your spa on the provided mat to provide a protective nonslip surface.

Step 3

Unscrew the cap of the air outlet below the control panel. Connect the wide end of the air hose to the outlet, screwing it firmly into place.

Step 4

Unscrew the cap of the air valve at the spa’s lower position. Insert the narrow end of the air hose into the valve, pressing until it becomes secure.

Step 4

Step 5

Connect the power cord to a stable, compatible, and well grounded power source equipped with a GFCI or RCD rated to trip at 30 mA or less. Press RESET (red) on the power plug and the control panel will display the detected current temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 5

Step 6

Press BUBBLE on the control panel to start inflation. When the spa becomes firm, press BUBBLE again to stop inflation. Disconnect the air hose from the air valve and seal the valve tightly by replacing and tightening its cap. Remove the hose from the air outlet and close it completely by replacing and tightening its cap.

Note: The spa's floor needs no separate inflation. Stay with the spa during this process. DO NOT allow it to overinflate.

Step 6

Step 7

Seal the drain tightly on the floor inside the spa using the drain plug.

Step 7

Step 8

Place the filter covers over the provided filters and screw the filters onto the water outlets inside the spa as shown.

Step 8

Step 9

Unscrew the cap of the drain tube underneath the spa and connect it to your location’s drain with a matching hose (not included). If necessary, make such connection using the provided ⅝″ hose connector.

Step 9

Step 10

Fill the inflated spa with water to some level between the minimum and maximum water marks. You can use unheated water from your home’s hose and wait for the system to heat it, but using preheated water is highly recommended. For repeated use of tap or hose water, separately filtering the water to prevent possible lime scaling is recommended. For best results when using the spa to heat large amounts of water, always keep the cover locked in place while the water heats. (See Step 11 for how to lock the cover.)

NOTE:Add preheated water on cool or cold days, especially when the ambient temperature is below 59°F (15°C). Never add water hotter than 104°F (40°C) to the spa.

Step 10

Step 11

If you will not immediately use your spa, unfold the spa cover, place it over the filled spa, buckle the bands, and lock it in place using either of the provided keys as shown.
